Southampton fans believe goalkeeping coach Andrew Sparkes is on his way to St Mary’s following a Twitter post in which he said he was leaving South Africa for the UK and a new challenge.
The 34-year-old has been working with the Orlando Pirates for the past year having left his previous role with Swansea City in 2018, but he is now returning to Great Britain.
The current head of goalkeeping for the south coast outfit is Dave Watson, although the fact that he was listed as one of the people who would support Ralph Hasenhuttl when he was appointed in December may suggest that Saints want a specialist coach with no other priorities moving forward.

Indeed, the former RB Leipzig chief said in an interview with SportBild earlier this month that he was looking to bring in a new goalkeeping coach.
The link to the Austrian manager is certainly there for Sparkes too, seeing as they have both worked for the Red Bull franchise in Europe – the former as manager of Leipzig and the latter as an U18 GK coach for Salzburg.
The social media post from the Welshman suggests an announcement on his next job is likely to be revealed soon, and plenty of Saints supporters believe it is with the Premier League outfit.
