Having only made six appearances for the first-team this season, James Garner may have been wondering whether he was better off making a loan move away from Manchester United this month.
After all, when you’re 18, the one thing you’re always desperate for is getting out on to the pitch and making a name for yourself. Unfortunately for him, despite the Red Devils’ injuries to the likes of Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba in recent weeks and months, he has not had much of a look-in.

But on deadline day, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Garner will not be leaving the club on loan. He said: “James is going to stay here. We’re going to give him a chance here to keep improving. He’s had a bit of a difficult time lately, but he’ll be fine.”
After hearing about the United boss’ comments, fans of the Manchester side took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the matter, with many criticising the decision not to allow him some first-team exposure elsewhere.
It is understandable why United fans may feel aggrieved that one of their academy products isn’t being allow to play senior football either at the club or elsewhere.
